GRHS Course Registration

GRHS Registration Information 26/27

The 2026/2027 registration process will kick off shortly. Information will be shared with students and families through a variety of formats. Messaging will be out to families in late December/Early January regarding the Registration Timeline for current and future GRHS students. Counselors will be in classrooms to share course and registration information with students, and again to help students request courses for the 2026/2027 school year. GRHS will also be hosting a GRHS Registration and Career Pathway Presentation in the Reif Theater on Monday, January 26th. Students and families are encouraged to look through the GRHS Course Catalog for in depth information on course offerings, class listings, and information on future planning tools.

2026/2027 Registration Timeline

The 2026/2027 registration window will open Wednesday, January 28th and close Wednesday, February 18th. Students and families are encouraged to look through the course guide and make changes to requests in Campus anytime during that window. Students are encouraged to complete the registration process with GRHS Counselors during their scheduled classroom sessions. Changes can be made up until the window closes.

Registration Process

  • Counselors will be in classrooms with students two times over the course of the registration process. Counselors will present course guide information to students in the classroom setting prior to registration in the following days when students submit their registration requests with Counselors again.

  • Students register through the Infinite Campus application

  • Students register in the classroom with teachers and counselors present to encourage appropriate course selection, course requests can be altered at any time during the registration window

  • Students are encouraged to speak with their teachers for recommendations on appropriate courses and connect with parents/guardians prior to the close of the registration window

Students and Families will not be able to access course requests once the registration window has closed

Registration through Campus

Students and families can access the registration information through both the Student Portal Campus Application and the Parent Portal Campus Application

Families can access student information through: Parent Portal - Campus > Academic Plan > Select "Next" (no Post Grad Location or Post Gran Plans required).

Schedule Review and Change Request Windows

Guidelines are in place to ensure students are intentional with their course selection and students are in the appropriate courses to start their semester with effective course completion, graduation and skill development in mind.

See Schedule Change Guidelines for timelines and process information

Registration and Course Selection Resources

A few notes before making your course requests:
  • Carefully read through the course descriptions on the following pages to understand course requirements and expectations before selecting your courses

  • Understand the sequencing of courses. If you would like to get to an upper level or capstone course prior to graduation, understand which courses are required in the years prior.

  • Check for courses that are either a prerequisite FOR another course or require a prerequisite BEFORE the course can be available to you.

  • Consider your course selections carefully!  Counseling is working hard to reduce the number of schedule changes made each semester.  We will alter schedules to fill ‘holes’, balance teacher rosters, and to accommodate changes due to serious academic reasons.

GRHS Course Catalog

The GRHS Course Catalog is a great resource for students and families to get accurate information on the courses offered at GRHS.

** The 2026 GRHS Course Catalog is still going through revisions for future offerings. Some course titles, numbers, and descriptions may change leading up to registration. The GRHS Course Catalog will be fully updated in mid-January.

Course Guides and Registration Guides

Course guides allow students to quickly look up courses that meet requirement towards graduation. These guides are grade specific including information and courses that are available at grade level. Students and families can utilize these guides to help navigate options for the following year. Students are encouraged to consider long term implications of each course in making their selections keeping in mind which options allow for the intended benefit through exploration, balance and future course selection.

Registration - Course Request Guide

There are 7 hours in the day and two semesters – this means that there are 14 slots to fill with a course number.  Full Year Courses take up a slot each semester (and therefore have 2 numbers). Block Classes take up two hours in the same semester.  As a guide –

  • 14 courses (or 7 credits) = no study halls

  • 13 courses (or 6.5 credits) = 1 study hall (semester 1 or 2)

  • 12 courses (or 6 credits) = 2 study halls (one each semester)

**Keep in mind, these are course requests, you are not necessarily requesting courses to be offered in a specific semester or period of day.

Alternates: Alternate electives are helpful for students to request as not every requested elective will both be offered and fit into a students schedule. Alternates are additional electives that can replace requested courses if there is a scheduling conflict. We do our best to get students into the electives they request, scheduling can be tricky some classes have limited space or conflicts between requested courses can impact student schedules. Students and families should plan accordingly and request plenty of alternates the student would be willing to take if a conflict occurs. Students requesting block classes, should count this course as one alternate and request at least 4 alternate electives.

Course/Catalog Guide Key

Look for symbols that indicate information about the courses listed on both the Course Selection Guides and on the Course Catalog. These symbols give you quick reference to course that have specific requirements or offer additional benefits.

Career Pathway Banners

Banners also indicate which courses are part of a career Pathway. Use these banners to quickly identify which pathway(s) a course is associated with. Courses associated with College in the Schools through University of Minnesota Duluth and International Baccalaureate program are also indicated with banners.
